Paxton Keeley
Adventure Club meets at Mary Paxton Keeley Elementary School, which is located at 201 Park De Ville, Columbia, MO 65201. Our average enrollment is 80 children AM/PM. Currently, in addition to the Site Facilitator and childcare assistant, there are 10 Staff Assistants who attend the University of Missouri-Columbia. A majority of these students are Education or Early Childhood majors.
Paxton Keeley's Adventure Club meets in the school cafeteria. We also have daily access to the school's gymnasium. Paxton Keeley's outside playground is very large, with swings, climbers, basketball goals and a large grassy field. There is also a large tree that provides lots of shade for quiet play or reading.
Children are signed in by a parent/guardian for the morning session and by the Site Facilitator or Site Assistant for the afternoon session. Each child is signed in on an attendance form with the time of arrival and the initials of the adult signing them in. Every child must be signed out by an authorized adult. Again, the sign-out sheets always include the time the child was signed out and the initials of the person who signed the child out.

Paxton Keeley's Adventure Club is a fun and safe place for the students of Paxton Keeley to come before and after school. We offer lots of choices for the children, and encourage them to participate in the structured activities and help them to make good choices regarding friendships and offer problem solving techniques. The students are allowed to make choices regarding snacks, beverages, clubs, outdoor games and games played in the gym. Adventure Club promotes socialization and encouraging children to think, play and be good friends. Our JOLT Time consists of structured clubs, such as homework, technology, board games, structured learning activities and more educational choices. During cafeteria free play, the students are challenged by large and small activities such as Lego's, Blocks, Dramatic Play, and singing with the Karoke machine, we also have 2 laptops that are available at all times with educational games.. Paxton Keeley's Adventure Club promotes a safe, fun learning environment where the children ask their parents to "Not pick them up until 6pm!"
