Mill Creek

Mill Creek Adventure Club meets at Mill Creek Elementary School, which is located at 2200 Nifong Blvd. West. The average enrollment at Mill Creek Adventure Club is 80 children AM/PM. Currently, in addition to the Site Facilitator, there are 15 University of Missouri college students employed at this site.

Mill Creek Adventure Club meets in the school cafeteria. We also have daily access to the school's gymnasium and computer lab. Mill Creek's outside playground is very large, with climbers, 4-square courts, basketball goals and a large grassy field as well as a black top area.

Children are signed in by a parent/guardian for the morning session and by the Site Facilitator or Site Assistant for the afternoon session. Each child is signed in on an attendance form with the time of arrival and the initials of the adult signing them in. Every child must be signed out by an authorized adult. Again, the sign-out sheets always include the time the child was signed out and the initials of the person who signed the child out.

In addition to the sign in/out sheets, we have a large pocket "Where Am I?" chart in order for us to tell at a glance where a child is. The magnetic board is divided into 5 areas: "cafeteria," "gym," "outside," "computer lab," and "Room 208." Each child's name is printed on notecards and are color coded by grades. The children move their names on pocket charts according to where they are.
